Cold Compression 

The development of the Portable Compression Cryotherapy System has given EasyCryo an innovative therapeutic edge over conventional therapy systems in utilizing cold therapy and intermittent compression technology. Combined with dual action wraps this system offers a complete therapy solution utilizing the R.I.C.E. therapy concept of rest, ice, compression and elevation.

Ice cold water cycles through lightweight, medical-grade wraps with 15-75 mmhg compression levels to the affected areas. Both ice water cycle time and compression levels are user controlled on the system's control panel.

The system works incredibly well in providing rehabilitation for orthopedic injuries, cramping, sprains, or post-surgical swelling.

The basic process

The use of CO2 at -110°F under high pressure causes the skin temperature to fall from 89.6°F to 39.6°F within 30 seconds; this reaction is known as a : thermal shock

This activates the cutaneous neuroreceptors, generating an immediate remote corrective reflex in the organism that activates the NEUROVEGETATIVE system.

This produces several effects: on endocrine and enzymatic production, an inhibitive effect on pain receptors through the reduction of sodium pump activity, the relaying of nervous impulses, the activation of the vasomotor reflex of the vascular, and lymphatic systems.
